• الطب والعلوم الصحية علوم غزيرة ومتجددة بطبيعتها، وتتطلب عقولًا تعمل باستمرار، منفتحة ومطلعة على كل ما هو جديد.
• ويعدّ قسم الأمراض الصدرية بكلية الطب – جامعة دمياط ذلك التزامًا مهنيًا على جميع منتسبيه وليس عملاً تطوعيًا، بما ينعكس إيجابًا على جودة الرعاية الصحية لمرضى الصدر، ويسهم في سرعة الشفاء وتقليل العبء المادي على المرضى، ولا سيما غير القادرين.
• كما يرى القسم أن الخبرة والمهارة الإكلينيكية عنصران أساسيان في تقديم رعاية صحية ناجحة، لذا يعمل على إكساب جميع منتسبيه الخبرة والمهارة اللازمتين لرعاية وعلاج المرضى.
• ويرى قسم الأمراض الصدرية بكلية الطب – جامعة دمياط أن البحث العلمي، والاستقراء، وتطبيق إجراءات الإحصاء الطبي البسيطة جزء لا يتجزأ من أولويات الطبيب المعاصر.
• الأخلاق الحسنة مطلوبة لدى عامة الناس، لكنها لدى الطبيب ضرورة أساسية، ليكون معالجًا نفسيًا قبل أن يكون معالجًا بدنيًا.

Vision

Medicine and health sciences are inherently dynamic and continuously evolving fields, requiring minds that are perpetually active, open, and well informed about emerging knowledge and advances

The Department of Chest Diseases at the Faculty of Medicine, Damietta University, regards this as a professional obligation for all its members rather than a voluntary endeavor, so that such commitment is reflected in improved respiratory healthcare, accelerated recovery, and reduced financial burden on patients, particularly those with limited resources

The department also recognizes that clinical experience and practical competence are fundamental pillars of successful healthcare delivery; therefore, it is committed to equipping all its members with the expertise and skills necessary for optimal patient care and management

Furthermore, the Department of Chest Diseases at Damietta University considers scientific research, critical inquiry, and the application of basic medical statistical methods to be integral priorities for the contemporary physician

Ethical conduct is desirable in all individuals; however, in physicians it is an essential necessity, enabling the doctor to serve as a source of psychological reassurance in addition to providing physical treatment
